Apparently, one of the great songs of all time, California Girls, isn't very "woke." Honestly, I feel bad for anyone offended by the lyrics to California Girls, they're gonna have a tough time in life.

Odd that this album has had no follow-up posts. Not being a lyrics person, I'm blissfully unaware of any problems in that department. SD(ASN!!) is a gem-encrusted patchwork quilt of an album. Even "Bugged" is okay in my book. My favourite track if I have to name one? "Salt Lake City". All wonderful stuff. If one were allowed only one album to represent mid-sixties pop, SD would be a fair choice.

Odd that this album has had no follow-up posts. Yeah this section hasn’t exactly been on fire with activities, especially since those weekly album threads do the same thing. We blew through these in a day or two—including KDS in peak sass form!—but rarely returned unfortunately. I love SDSN. “Girl from New York City” is one of the underrated gems in the catalog in my opinion.

Ah, this is perfect timing. Just yesterday I was marveling at the incredible drum sound of "Then I Kissed Her". I listened to it 3 times in a row! Is he just hitting the snare or is he combining it with the kick? Maybe a floor tom? I'm not sure, but what a fantastic thud!
By the way, if you're in a good mood, and the sun's out, and you want to keep it going, a heavy dose of Today! and SDSN will keep you there. Never fails.

Sorry, but I kinda got to laugh at this. I've said it before: I can understand where he's coming from when he sings the high-pitched "let him RUN" in the chorus. But, the rest of his lead (w/the possible exception of the first line) and backing vocals are incredible.

That was certainly his line around the time of the Imagination remake, so at least he's consistent! (Not that I'd dare to suggest Brian Wilson is ever inconsistent in his statements.)
