Just curious. I know Cincinnati Kid went to a Mike and Bruce show recently, but has anyone else been to any shows since COVID hit? Maybe a drive in show? A socially distanced pod show? A full on no restrictions show? If so, any impressions? Did it feel different? Or, what is good just to get out and experience live music again?
Does anyone have tickets to any future shows? There are a couple in my area I was thinking about, but I'm hesitant to make any big plans for fall or winter at this point, considering tours and shows are getting cancelled, and restrictions might return. I do have my Ringo tickets for June 2022 (re-rescheduled from June 2020, then June 2021). I hope I get to use them.

I have tickets to see The Beach Boys in Hershey, PA. The concert has already been cancelled twice. It was rescheduled for a third time, but, honestly, I don't even know when that is. My buddy is handling the tickets and I recently asked him to...check on things.

I did get a refund on my Elton John tickets though, because that was $1000 out of my pocket.

Once I saw the prices, I passed.

What?? No wonder I only go to classical concerts these days. Is classical concert cheap tickets? Tell.✊ Not cheap -- cheaper. Elton is cool but I don't have that kind of money for concerts. Family is more important.

Looks like it's scheduled for April 10, 2022. Just in time for the 60th Anniversary Tour! Things could change. I think this is the third scheduled date for that show. Plus, I think the listing of all these shows as "Mike Love" on the BB webpage hints at something.

I was not in attendance--I don't actually like any of these bands--but last night was the first and only big stadium show of the summer, as far as I know, in the Twin Cities: the "Hella Mega Tour" of Weezer, Fallout Boy, and Green Day. Apparently it went well.
But most of the bigger shows have been postponed again, including all the other stadium shows. The First Ave universe of clubs have been holding shows in their venues again (requiring proof of vaccination) but the acts are for the most part not of the caliber they usually are.

That Hella Mega Tour came to my neck of the woods recently (minus Fall Out Boy due to a COVID case), and it seemed to go down pretty well. I'm not a fan of either band, and I'm even less a fan of the word "Hella," but it's nice seeing a big show in town.
What's not so nice is that other big shows are getting postponed or cancelled again.
I really wonder what the end game is here. Like, at what point, do we not have to worry about events being cancelled?

Here is an example of concerts in the COVID era. Last night, the Doobie Bros. played the Minnesota State Fair. However, Michael McDonald contracted COVID despite being vaxxed, and could not perform. The show went on without him, which leads to a whole new question about music these days: is it better for bands to postpone shows in such situations, or to carry on with people missing? (Obviously it depends on the band and the absent member: solo acts or small groups are less likely to be able to carry on than a band like the Doobies.)

I'm kinda leaning towards postponing if a prominent member can't perform. I'm not really a big fan of Michael McDonald's contributions to The Doobie Brothers, but as I recall, they made a pretty big deal out of it when it was announced he was going to tour with them again.
