Artist: Duran Duran. Don’t Judge 🤣 I’ve seen them twice in concert. Album: Days of Future Passed - The Moody Blues. There was a time when I was as obsessed over the Moody’s as I am now over The Beach Boys.Song: Darlin’ - The Beach Boys. Carl ❤️No one's judging anyone around here, cl. I was initially suspicious of Duran Duran as being just a bunch of pretty boys until I saw them at Live Aid (on TV) in 1985. I was mightily impressed and I have been ever since. I love Nick Rhodes' wailing synth at the end of "Save A Prayer":

There was a time when I was as obsessed over the Moody’s as I am now over The Beach Boys.I saw The Moody Blues a few years ago on their Greatest Hits tour. It was one of the best concerts I've seen by...anyone. Definitely Top 5. I gained a lot of respect for Justin Hayward, not just as a singer but also as a guitarist.

Et tu, BBT board?
Band/Artist: Eels. Best known for their one hit, the late 90s slacker anthem "Novocaine For the Soul," Eels actually had a couple of really good albums after that debut. Electro-Shock Blues, Daisies of the Galaxy, Souljacker, and Blinking Lights were all quite good.
Album: Ecstasy (Lou Reed) and EP (Fiery Furnaces) tie
I almost forgot, then almost defaulted to, Electric Ladyland. It's probably the most obvious choice. But while I still love it, it has faded in my esteem some. Levon Helm's great Electric Dirt was also considered. As comps, Elvis 56 and Endless Summer. But it's a tie between Lou Reed's last great album, 2000's Ecstasy, and one of the Fiery Furnaces' best, the misnamed (at 10 songs and 41 minutes) EP, which includes a few of my favorites of theirs, like the hilarious "Smelling Cigarettes" and the infectious "Tropical Ice-Land"
Song: Another tie, with Courtney Barnett's fabulous VU/Modern Lovers-esque "Elevator Operator" and one of my favorite Of Montreal songs, "An Eluardian Instance."

Artist: Eddie Vedder - I'm a fan. Charismatic. Gives 100%. He's one of us; he's a fan of music. He has a respect for those who came before him. I really like his singing; he is unique.
Album: Endless Summer - Love or hate its effect on the band, it was so important.
Song: "Everybody's Everything" - My favorite Santana song, with Neil Schon on lead guitar supplying his great solo.

Artist: Elvis Presley; Eagles.
Album: Bob Marley & the Wailer's Exodus. If I hadn't already chosen them as my favorite artists, Elvis Presley (1956), Elvis (1956), and Eagles (1972) would be strong contenders.
Song: The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby", Buddy Holly's "Everyday", and Weezer's "El Scorcho".

Artist: Elton John - surprised he’s left. Album: Emerson, Lake and Palmer - because Exodus was already chosen. Also, I love Lucky Man. Greg Lake vocals - always so beautiful. Song: Epitath - King Crimson. Why did I sell all of my King Crimson LPs. They sound so great on vinyl.

For heaven's sake, carllove beat me to the punch on today's letter!
Artist/Band: The Four Tops There are a bunch of acts I like, but nobody REALLY stands out as a full-on favorite of mine: Flaming Lips, Fiery Furnaces, Four Tops, Fleet Foxes, Flamin' Groovies, Ace Frehley, Feist
Album: Father of the Bride, Vampire Weekend (2019). At first I was thinking there wasn't much to choose from but between the aforementioned--a really good one, with this song for example having kept my spirits up for weeks!--as well as Faith, False Priest, Figure 8, Freak Out, Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, From Elvis in Memphis...

I tried to wait .... I start my days REALLY early! I have seen Vampire Weekend Live, but that was back in the Modern Vampire of The City days. Guess I need to listen to some of their newer stuff.

I'm an early bird, too! I just happened to be slow on this thread today. Anyway, I only said it so I could get my daily dumb little letter-of-the-day line in there, "for heaven's sake..." You're certainly welcome to kick things off, too!
As for Vampire Weekend, I have been hot and cold on them over the years. Didn't like the debut, really liked Contra. Didn't like MVotC, but then LOVED Father of the Bride. The latter is definitely one of my 10 favorite albums of the '10s. I loved it, especially the use of Danielle Haim as a harmony singer on a bunch of songs. In fact, a Vampire Weekend/Haim merger would make for one heck of a band.

Album: Forever Changes ~ Love. I bought this album when it was first released but had trouble with it for decades until a good friend initiated me into its wonders It's still one of my most disappointing albums ever. It was one I heard of back in the early '00s as an underappreciated classic, along the same lines (and along the same time I was hearing of it) as the Zombies O&O. But where the latter absolutely floored me, I've never yet gotten the former. I just don't like Love, I guess.
