Got to be honest, I was kind of excited for this. I know that all the songs have been heard before, but it’s still fun to get a new release. However, I was severely disappointed, because of one reason. The sound. To put it bluntly, this entire CD sounds… bad. Compare this recording from 2007: To the exact same recording on this new compilation: It clips, it peaks, it distorts, the entire thing sounds like it was sourced from a low quality MP3 rip. And it’s not just this song, all of the other songs besides the title track and Friends are available in much higher quality elsewhere. And as for Friends, it’s supposed to be all of the children of The Beach Boys, but you wouldn’t be able to tell because the level of compression put on all of the vocals and instruments is so high that it just sounds like mush. Even more disappointing given the fact that Mark Linett had a hand in it. I am happy that it was made for charity, so please don’t take my criticisms the wrong way. However, for a project that began in spring 2020 and basically took an entire year to come out, it really does sound like something that was quickly thrown together using a free Youtube to MP3 converter I haven't heard the entire CD but, you're right, the difference in quality between those two Bruce tracks is unbelievable. At first I thought maybe the pandemic had something to do with it, you know, maybe they couldn't get the studio/recordings/equipment situated. But, no, that's no excuse. First, these are pros you're dealing with, and there's obviously several ways to get it done right. Yeah, definitely not the pandemic, seeing as the majority of these tracks are from a long time ago, some dating back to the 2000s, and it’s really not that hard to make something sound decent from home.

It's a few weeks old now, but I just noticed this local news (local for the Charlotte area, that is) feature on David Beard spearheading this project.

It's hard to believe but Carnie Wilson is 53 years old and Wendy will be 52.
