I keep seeing this name around the place. RH seems quite a prolific gent. Is he someone I should be investigating?

My introduction was through his band the Soft Boys and their 1980 album Underwater Moonlight. It is still probably my favorite Hitchcock-related album.
His solo career output is vast and consistently inconsistent. I Often Dream of Trains from 1984 and Spooked from 2004 are two that I like, but I have to admit I've never even approached being a completist. I'm sure I would enjoy several songs off each album, and be more than happy to skip several more. That's always my Hitchcock experience.
Spooked has "We're Gonna Live in the Trees," which has an opening line I dearly love:
"Guess what--I've spoken to Norm. We're gonna live in the trees."
That album also includes a really nice cover of Bob Dylan's "Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door."

Thanks, Cap'n. I'll give the Soft Boys album a spin and then check out the two solo albums.

I just finished it. I see now that mine has an alternative track list as it includes "Vegetable Man". Some astonishing music in there! It can't get any better than this, surely... can it?

From Hitchcock? No, not consistently. There are individual moments I like better than individual moments on this album, but I think this is his best album. ("His" not really being fair, since it's a band. Though I do believe he was the primary [sole?] songwriter. That said, I haven't looked at the details in a long time, so I might be wrong.)

He was the primary (rather than the sole) songwriter. Well, I started and now I've stopped. This is a super album -- no wonder it gets all those accolades -- and it fits nicely into my one-album-per-act strategy. Thanks a lot for pointing me at it, Cap'n.
