My guesses:
- "Susie Cincinnati" 2020 remix, previously unreleased - "Susie Cincinnati" basic session highlights
Actually I'll guess it'll be one previously released, "real" song: "Feel Flows," maybe, or "This Whole World." And then a previously unreleased or live song, probably from Dennis. One of the two will be Dennis, anyway (I'd guess).

Alternate This Whole World and Surf's Up acapella (that was accidentally released on certain platforms a few weeks ago) are the two singles.

This is getting ridiculous. What's ridiculous? That they now have pre-released more music from the boxed set than an album side of Wild Honey or Friends. Just put the damn thing out!

I feel your pain in that we've been waiting a long time for this one, but it seems to me I've seen plenty of artists digitally release four, five songs off an upcoming album in advance of the whole thing. Wish I had examples off the top of my head, but I swear it's increasingly common considering the digital world. It would be different if it involved pressing and shipping actual singles to stores, but obviously that side of things is mostly gone.
EDIT: Thought of one! The Hold Steady released something like six songs as singles that I believe mostly or all were on their second-most recent album, Thrashing Thru the Passion (2019).

I remember last year, Blue Oyster Cult released three digital singles leading up to their October 2020 Album - The Symbol Remains. That's one example I can think of.
Although, unlike Feel Flows, that album wasn't delayed time and time again, so releasing those singles felt like more of a calculated logical move.

Interesting ending, though I wouldn't call this version superior by any means.

Not bad.
And, I'm not trying to dampen anyone's enthusiasm about this set, as I do think the release of a set from this era is a very positive thing.
But, that being said, these alternate takes are why I don't really like spending money on deluxe reissues or boxes anymore. It was interesting to hear, sure. Is it something I'm likely to listen to again? No. That tends to be the case the vast majority of the time for me anyway, not just with the Beach Boys, but any band.
And it's probably not the single I'd have chosen to entice people to drop some money come August 27.

Yeah, I've been second-guessing my decision a little bit to go with the whole 5 CD set. I went with that Import CD place online for $87 which I thought was a pretty good price, but they haven't taken the money out of my checking account yet (via my debit card). I guess I could change my order, but I did already subtract it in my checkbook register.

I'm sure the set will have plenty of goodies, but I'm not certain these singles are really the band putting their best foot forward.
I did notice that Seasons in the Sun is not on the two disc version which I find slightly annoying. I'm not a huge fan of the Terry Jacks song, but I'd rather have an unreleased track than alternate takes of stuff I already have. But, then again, that's the biz.

It's 1969 mix Slip On Through with a tacked on session intro.

I was about to post that it would be odd to release a song in the middle of the week, but forgot tomorrow is Friday. (See? My situation I posted about in The Lounge caused my brain to forget that the weekend begins tomorrow).
