Thanks for posting it TCK. I'll be sure to listen today. Bruce is sometimes such an interesting interviewee, really insightful. (Sometimes just in full Mike-cheerleader mode, which is less interesting.)

Bruce was very "up" in this podcast. He obviously had a lot on his mind. Bruce Johnston is very...different. I don't know where or how he comes up with some of the things he says. And, usually, no...always, they go unquestioned or followed up on. He just rambles on. Compared to some of Brian and Mike's canned interviews, I guess that's a good thing. But, a BB concert where they played 63 songs? Is that true?
Two positives came out of this podcast. First, Bruce is open to a 60th Anniversary reunion. Other than David Marks, Bruce probably has the least influence, but it's nice to know he's all in. Second, the "Add Some Music To Your Day" project sounds interesting. I think it would be better if it was designated solely a Beach Boys' release. Christian Love, Wilson Phillips, Matt Jardine et al are nice singers, but they would take away from Brian, Mike, and Al.

Words I never thought I'd hear:
"Mike's always recording something these days."
The ASMTYD recording does sound interesting. I'd like to hear it, but it's a feel-good novelty. Wouldn't bother me at all to feature Beach Boys' kids in addition to the guys, as we already have the definitive one with the guys at their peaks. This doesn't replace, just supplements.
He certainly seems optimistic about a 60th anniversary reunion tour.

Didn't one or two of the final C50 shows have over 60 songs? I think in 2015 they played close to that number as well at a few England shows.

I just did some quick research and at the 9/27/12 Royal Albert Hall concert that Bruce referred to, they played 61 songs (according to setlist.fm)! Close enough. That's got to be some kind of record for a major group.

SJS, would you like me to help you compose your apology to Bruce, or do you just want to wing it?

More importantly, I just wanted to be accurate! Don't wanna be accused of posting wrong things...
No, I really do think Bruce has been guilty of saying some off-the-wall things through the years. I usually find myself rolling my eyes or saying, "Huh?" during his interviews.

I think most (all?) of the Boys are guilty of that to some degree. Of course, if we're charitable, we'd have to admit that speaking "on record" to the world dozens to hundreds of times a year for 60 years is bound to get you in trouble sooner or later.

Really looking forward to hearing all 5 surviving beach boys plus some family members on add some music to your day. I hope if anyone hears anything they will post it here soon but maybe it needs its own thread. It's going to be something like don't fight the sea I suppose. And it will certainly help support the release of the Box set and hopefully help inaugurate any potential 60th anniversary reunion

And then he quit the group shortly after that.

After Bruce's podcast, I thought more news or details on The Beach Boys' Family & Friends "Add Some Music To Your Day" might leak out. Anybody hear/read anything?
