What about this, though: am I still the only one who finds it superior to Sunflower? Because I grow more convinced of that opinion every year.
I think it's got more great moments than Sunflower. I think Sunflower is a little more consistent over 12 tracks, but without the peaks and valleys.

I first heard Surf's Up not long after it had been released. I'd never even heard of Sunflower until 30 years later! I love that album, even though its lyrics (and some of its music) can be a bit cartoonish at times. Surf's Up on the other hand stole my heart. At first I focused almost exclusively on side two until I bought the 2fer CD with Sunflower in 2002. "All I Wanna Do" turned my enjoyment of the Boys' music into a love affair but that's another story...
