The only muzak I appreciate is very specific - classic rock, some 1970's singer/songwriter stuff, and Christmas music. With my job, I visit this business (a retirement home actually) that plays muzak, and it always seems to playing The Beatles, The Moody Blues, and The Carpenters. I love it!
And, come November and December, I'm very attentive to Christmas muzak. Some of it is very tastefully done, but then I'm a sucker for instrumental Christmas music.
Hello, people. Usually, muzak is frowned at but, does anybody enjoy muzak here? Any notable good examples (with links)?
Here you go, zz. This is what I posted at Smiley in May last year:
It's only a small step away from Ambient to Muzak, folks. Mr Tubey shoved this in my face earlier this evening so I gave it a try. It's beautiful, if a little spooky. As commenter Shawn Spear says, "Even the reverb has reverb"!
lonelysummer: Shoot, i gave up on new music in the 90's.

Kapitan: Anyone want to kick off the next year's music to discuss? Pick anything except 1976, 1963, 1989, 2002, or 2010.

Kapitan: If not, I'll post a new one later today.

carllove: If you want to pick one today, I can do one Monday. Gotta start getting ready to power wash my deck this morning! Did get my thoughts in on 2010 this morning. Rough year!

carllove: Actually Kapitan, my husband is still sleeping, so I will choose a year this morning. It will be 1972.

B.E.: '63-72 - not just the best years for the Beach Boys but for popular music.
