I love the Beach Boys’ “Vege-Tables”! The Zappa song is OK, but I’m not a fan. BBs all the way here.

I'm not a Zappa fan either and his take on veggies really didn't resonate with me in any way. It's Beach Boys for me, and I like each version (SMiLE and Smiley Smile) about equally, but for different reasons. If I want something off-the-wall, I go for this Brian, Dean, Marilyn, etc. version:

Looks like the Boys won that one handily. How about another one? The winding-down 1967 discussion reminded me of Aretha Franklin's great I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You album, which contains a song we can set head-to-head with a Beach Boys tune based on their similar titles.
Aretha Franklin's "Good Times" versus the Beach Boys' "Good Time."

Sorry Boys, but I'm going with Aretha on this one. It's hard to beat her classic r&b, but it's an easy contest against an odd goofy song like the Beach Boys "Good Time".
There, I said it. I don't like the Boys' "Good Time" in any form. I don't like the instrumentation, the lyrics, or the performance in general. I skip it on the Feel Flows set.

I'm also going with Aretha. The Beach Boys' Good Time has never been high on my BB list.

I love "Good Time," but it's not close for me: Aretha all the way. (That whole album is a great one.)

Tell me ... or don't! A couple of songs about what the narrator does or doesn't want to be told...

Oddly, I think I have a softer spot for the Dylan song.
Maybe it's because Nashville Skyline is a favourite album of my wife's, and I've always preferred "Barbara Ann" to its B-side.

I think I’m rolling with BW on this one.

"Lay Lady Lay" is in my Top 5 Dylan songs. Sometimes it's No. 1, however, Nashville Skyline isn't one of my favorite Dylan albums. "Tell Me That It Isn't true" is an OK song, but "Girl Don't Tell Me" is a good to very good song. So, "Girl Don't Tell Me" wins by a decision.

I'm biased here. Beach Boys.

I'm a big Dylan fan, but this is nowhere near my favorite of his. So while "Girl Don't Tell Me" is also far from my favorite Beach Boys song, it's an easy winner here.

There are a few Dylan songs I like. This ain't one of 'em. I find it a bit boring. Beach Boys without a doubt.
Btw, any fans of the Smithereens cover of "Girl Don't Tell Me"?
