This concert is of great historical significance as it's the only full live release featuring all three Wilsons plus Mike, Al, and Bruce.
It's also a damn good performance of a mostly hits heavy setlist, although you do get a more lively version of the title track to KTSA and a nice performance of Lady Lynda.
Truth be told, Brian is at the piano, but he's mostly not there. He really also contributes the first verse of Sloop and his line from Surfer Girl. Dennis is full on Dennis, and appears to be very full of......let's say cheer. His drumming on California Girls offers a glimpse of what it might have sounded like had Keith Moon's dream of joining The Beach Boys came to fruition.
Mike, Al, and especially Carl are in fine form vocally. This concert also features the version of God Only Knows that the C50 Boys played to, and Mike and Bruce continued to use for a little while.
The one minor quibble is that the concert film is called "Good Timin" yet leaves off the song "Good Timin" which was played that night.

I like this one quite a bit, too. And not just for Carl's sweet green satin jacket.
It is a little depressing seeing Brian in the condition he was in, not particularly good and apparently not enjoying himself much. Yet it's great seeing him at all. The perennial puzzle with him, I suppose.
My biggest gripe is Mike at the beginnings and especially endings of other people's songs. At the end of "Lady Lynda," "Al Jarrrrr-diiiiiiine" in a jokey way. Before "Darlin" ends, "how bout that Carl Wilson?" And so on. The impression I get--and I'm not saying it's correct, just that it's my impression--is that he just can't step out of the spotlight even for those few minutes at a time, he has to take ownership and insert himself. It drives me crazy.
But this is a great way to hear some of these songs. "Keepin the Summer Alive" is better here than on the album.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like Mike's stage persona and banter for the most part.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually like Mike's stage persona and banter for the most part. I think his little comments are just his way of drawing attention to the other band members. I've heard dozens of concerts featuring "how about that Carl Wilson!". Never bothered me. Mike was no doubt aware that the casual fans might not even know the names of the individual band members. Kind of like Linda McCartney shouting "Denny Laine, yo!" after a couple of the DL sung songs in "Rock Show".

Even Brian occasionally takes a page from Mike's book at his shows with "the great Al Jardine!!!" or "the great Blondie Chaplin."
