A collaborative effort between 6 persons, this project came about during a voice chat. It was a simple question: how can we make the worst BEST SMiLE mix imaginable? Many ideas were tossed around, and work began on March 28th, wrapping up just in time for April Fools Day. I hope it entertains you all! Enjoy mega.nz/#F!NtpiUaRI!dSk3JqY-1cNVAOphBj4OHQ Note: i'm unsure what the policies for sharing a thing like this would be, so if it comes down to it, i can take down the link if needed. Note 2: i'm aware i posted this exact thing on the EH forum but i just want people to hear it! Put way too much effort into this lmao

We have a Your Personal SMiLE Mix thread where this would fit perfectly.
I'd love to hear your mix, but when I click on the link it takes me to a Secure Cloud Storage and Communication site - where I have to create an account and so forth. Is there any other more way accessible you can post the link?

SJS, try copy and pasting the full web address. Paste it where? Just open a new tab and paste it in the search bar, i think.

Just open a new tab and paste it in the search bar, i think. Are you talking about just copying the mega.nz/#F part?

I just finished listening to your mix. That is some wild stuff. I never heard any Beach Boys-related music quite like that, definitely no SMiLE material mixed like that. How did you guys ever come up with those ideas? And you did all of that recording in less than a week? Kudos to you and your group. That is some excellent editing.
I don't know how often I would pull it up and listen to it in its entirety, maybe on a long(er) car trip or just chilling out some night. I guess if you uploaded it to YouTube it wouldn't be long before it gets taken down. But I thank you for sharing it!

well there's some pieces that were made last year, but yeah it was made very quickly. The recent lockdowns across the US gave plenty of free time to throw these ideas together. And i've already got years of experience making mashups and editing so it was a piece of cake! Peat offered the disco mixes, one of your lovely moderators offered some ideas and helped filter Barnyard, and the others also tossed ideas around (not sure if you're here Mystery Man and Pastelsky but hello!) The notes explain a lot. I think i should get around to stringing it into a cohesive listening experience, or at least as cohesive as could be, but that's for another day.
