Gotta say, I want to do at least one of these shows...might be out in CA in early September, so that would work. I have a very tempered expectation of what Brian can do these days but a shorter set and more variation, along with a different band to play off of, might give him a little zip yet...

Yeah, one day or so after pointing out I might be done with him, I’m looking at being sucked back in. Not playing within about 6 hours of me yet though.

It's typical that neither the Christmas tour or this tour is coming close to me. However, the PS Tour is making its 5th or 6th stop in my general area (and I was offered a free ticket, so I'm going, despite my saying I'd not attend another PS show).

A lot to cover here...I guess Darian was instrumental in getting both groups together for this? I wouldn't be surprised if he sat in for a couple of songs with The Zombies, unless they do a Chicago-like encore where both groups rock out together at the end of the show.
I like The Zombies, but I'm mostly a greatest hits fan. I don't have any of their studio albums, but I love their singles. Great AM radio stuff!
Now, for Brian...The article mentions that Brian will performs "songs" from Friends and Surf's Up, not specifically the entire albums. That makes more sense. Brian only sings a couple of songs on Friends, and only two songs on Surf's Up. It looks like the song "Surf's Up" will be resurrected.
And that's about what I'm expecting; I'll just say it. Brian will probably throw out a couple of talking/singing vocals on the Friends' songs, same with "Til I Die", and I suspect "Surf's Up" will require a lot of help.
Brian usually comes around each year close enough for me to attend. I'll just have to decide if I wanna go. There might be enough good music spread around to make it worthwhile, regardless of Brian's off-putting on stage...demeanor.

Ooh, predictions!
Friends Wake The World Be Here In The Morning (Al has a writing credit; I predict an Al lead) When A Man Needs A Woman (Al has a writing credit; I predict another Al lead) Busy Doin' Nothin' Transcendental Meditation (a long shot but I could see them rocking out to it)
Feel Flows Long Promised Road Take A Load Off Your Feet Lookin' At Tomorrow Til I Die
Surf's Up
Is that too many? Of all the songs though, A Day In The Life Of A Tree would be my number one requested song.

When a Man..., I thought about that. Would have to be a Matt showcase.
Busy..., would be interesting because I can’t imagine Brian tracking those lyrics.
Feet, I thought of that too. I’d actually love it.
Tree, I’ll bet on. It’s just too obvious a not-obvious, perfect choice.

Oh and Blondie will sing LPR.

Tree, I’ll bet on. It’s just too obvious a not-obvious, perfect choice. I think what helps its chances is that the band is in tune with what the fans like/want. The guys know that the song has grown in stature and has become kind of an unperformed gem. Of course it would be great if Brian took the lead, unless he talks/sings it.

Oh and Blondie will sing LPR. You would think, but now you have this BW documentary coming out called Long Promised Road. Did I read somewhere that Brian recorded a version of the song for the documentary? But, yeah, of course Blondie would get more out of the performance than Brian. Much more.

Brian did Little Bird when David Marks was in his band in 2013. Maybe he revives it with Blondie on vox.

Busy Doing Nothin would justify the show for me even if Brian's vocal is all over the place. Just love that tune.

When a Man..., I thought about that. Would have to be a Matt showcase. I was actually thinking (the verses of) Be Here in the Morning when I wrote that. Though Matt would have to do some heavy lifting on both of those I suppose.
