I don't know about "spirituality," but I enjoy the arrangements and singing. Although it could be that I'm not a very spiritual person myself. And, Kap, I do enjoy that version of O Holy Night, but I just think a 1964 Brian singing it would be out of this world. Brian's Christmas album, to me, is up there with TLOS & Gershwin as Brian's best post-88 production works. I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer Brian's Christmas album (and Mike's!) to The Beach Boys' overall. I have a feeling Clive Davis wasn't exactly enamored. He didn't sign Brian to any more projects.

That just means he didn't see economic value. At best tangentially related to the quality of the work.

I play both BB and BW Christmas albums a lot in December. While Mike's isn't bad, it's not likely to be pulled off the shelf too often.
