The early Beach Boys albums are unfairly labeled surf / car records. But, there are songs about Indians and root beer here.

And who doesn't love a good rock 'n' roll root beer song?
I'm not a fan of this album. For me, the Beach Boys career starts with Surfer Girl.

Recently, I was enjoying "Heads You Win, Tails I Lose", so I decided to learn the chords and strum along. It's an easy, fun progression. The key is A major. The verse is I-vi-I-vi-IV-V-IV-V. The chorus is vi-V-vi-V-I. The bridge is IV-I-IV-II7-V. So, just a few chords, but the sections transition really well, and I guess it's kind of interesting how the song pretty much just alternates between repeating two chord sequences. Anyway, what really interested me was that it was kind of a surprise to realize the striking/distinctive intro I-bVII-bVI-V doesn't reappear later in the song nor do the bVII (G major) or bVI (F major) chords. Just thought that was a slightly interesting (and early) example of a unique intro/section of a song.

And I actually have the 45 with the sleeve, for “Ten Little Indians”. Didn’t really get that one for the music though.
