I'll say those Indianapolis fans who booed Luck off the field Saturday night showed a serious lack of class. Sports fans? A lack of class? I’m shocked. Yeah, truly. I think this day and age of endless information and stats have created a culture of ultra entitled armchair GMs.

Right on cue, I saw a story citing the National Federation of State High School Associations announces high school football participation has dropped by 30k, to about 1 million nationwide. It is the 5th consecutive year of decline.

Thirty-one years old, so probably not.
It'll be an interesting couple of days now with cuts and trades and free agent (and practice squad) signings. The Vikings sent OL Danny Isidora to Miami and traded for CB Mark Fields, and cut half a dozen or so guys (including former Gophers TE turned Vikings OL Nate Wozniak, a 6-10 specimen!).

As expected, the Vikings cut former first-round WR Laquon Treadwell. In four years, despite plenty of opportunities, he didn't even notch 1,000 yards total.
We also cut K/P Kaare Vedvik, whom we just acquired in a trade from Baltimore about a week or two ago.

All of a sudden, kickers - well, good kickers - are in demand.
I'm a little surprised to see Miami unloading some starters including Kenny Stills, Laremy Tunsil, and Kiko Alonso. There have been rumblings in the media of the Dolphins "tanking", which, unlike the NBA, is rare in the NFL. They're dumping a lot of salaries and stockpiling draft picks, so it definitely looks like a youth movement. But, then they announce Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starting QB over Josh Rosen. Maybe they just don't want Rosen to get killed.

Well if you think you're going to be awful, you might not want your QB of the future being beaten to a pulp and getting shell-shocked. Remember how badly Troy Aikman took a beating early on? No team with any sense would allow that again. And sometimes it takes a while to overcome that rough start, as with Vinny Testaverde, who didn't really begin to look good for probably 10 years after his rough start with the atrocious Bucs!

Hey, Kapitan, your Vikings picked up a former first-round pick (22nd overall in 2016), WR Josh Doctson.

He was rumored to be the Vikings' target when we took Treadwell. He and Will Fuller went with the two picks right before we selected Treadwell, and both were reportedly high on our boards at the time.
I haven't seen him much (if at all) since then, but I'm glad to add high level talent. Especially since we go from stars to possible contributors pretty quickly in our WR corps, not really working with much in the way of solid backups.

Can you believe this guy? I gotta admit, I'm rooting for the Raiders, specifically Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock, to take a stand and hold their ground. I mean, a team has to enforce some/certain rules. If you don't, believe me, the other players WILL take note, and you will lose all control and respect.

What an ass. I would never let him back on the team, and would cut him if necessary. I'm not old-school enough to think coaches or front office personnel are like some combination of parents and gods or anything, and that players have to bow before them, but every organization runs on mutual respect. That nonsense is not respect. And posting that letter with his moronic commentary isn't, either.
I'm reminded of Latrell Sprewell choking PJ Carlessimo back in the late 90s. And he was a moron for it, too.
No question, Antonio Brown would never play on my team again if I were the owner, GM, or head coach. (If I were the head coach and I was told I had to bring him back into the fold and play him, I would quit. I am entirely serious.)

I'm with you. There are already rumors that releasing him might happen, or at least trading him. Reportedly Mayock has had enough but it's gonna be up to Gruden. We'll see.
Are you ready for some football!

Well, apparently he's playing Monday after an "emotional" apology. Maybe Raiders leadership are just all better men than I am, maybe they're desperate for talent on the field, but I still can't say I'd make that choice.

Not better men, it's just that pro sports has changed so much, even in your day. I know you're a relatively young guy...but still, the last 10-15 years...geez. Yes, it's a cliche', but it's a different ballgame, both on and off the field.
