Oof, that gets pretty ugly.
Interesting take on the Maisel character, though. I watched it and obviously assumed it was meant to be based on Kaye: a female bassist, single mom, etc.

A Bob Dylan has been cast for an upcoming biopic, tentatively titled "Going Electric": Timothee Chalamet.
Looking at his credits, though, I don't think I've ever seen Mr. Chalamet's work.

Bob Dylan is the Executive Producer and his longtime manager, Jeff Rosen, is one of the producers. I'm surprised by this. I'm also not a big fan of rock and roll movies, much preferring documentaries.

Sorry to see that news. My father had Parkinson's. It's not necessarily a death sentence anymore. There have been improvements in the treatment of Parkinson's over the last few years, specifically with the medications now available and some surgeries that have been successful. Hopefully, Ozzy will have positive results with his treatment.

This is messy: Aerosmith reportedly made founding drummer Joey Kramer audition for his own job after having had shoulder surgery and missing some shows. And then he failed the audition, thus reportedly won't be allowed to play with the group in the near future, including at a charity benefit show and the Grammys.
Kramer is suing.

Obviously, by the article, Kramer can play to some acceptable extent (at least in Kramer's opinion), and we're talking about a charity show and a one-song appearance at The Grammy's. What's really surprising is that...after all of those years together, that something like this would come up. It's too bad they can't bend over backwards for the guy.

I was listening to the radio this morning when they read the news about Ozzy Osbourne's Parkinson's, the hosts echoed a sentiment I've read on the internet for a very long time now. "Just let Ozzy retire. He sounds so tired. He's done enough." Doesn't that also sound a little Beach Boys-y?

I was listening to the radio this morning when they read the news about Ozzy Osbourne's Parkinson's, the hosts echoed a sentiment I've read on the internet for a very long time now. "Just let Ozzy retire. He sounds so tired. He's done enough." Doesn't that also sound a little Beach Boys-y? I think we're going to be reading more and more stories like this. We often talk about that generation of rockers (The Beach Boys, Stones, Dylan, McCartney/Starr, Clapton, etc.) who are still out there doing it and breaking new ground. And they are breaking new ground. In the next couple of years, health permitting, we will have these legends still recording and performing in their 80's. Whether one agrees with that or not, and I guess the quality of the work has a lot to do with whether you agree with it or not, it can be inspiring. But what inevitably comes with that, with people working in their 70's and 80's, are age-related health concerns. So, it's kind of a double-whammy. Not only to you have to deal with seeing these greats aging before our eyes, but we also will be reading more stories like Ozzy's.
I also wanted to mention that Parkinson's isn't necessarily linked to age, though the effects are usually more noticeable with older people. The illness is a long-term progressive disease and the early symptoms, while not as noticeable, can actually start at a relatively young(er) age.

This might barely qualify as news, but seeing as there has been so little news about Genesis in the 21st century with they exception of the 2007 reunion tour of the three man lineup, I suppose it qualifies.
Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, and Phil Collins were recently spotted together at a basketball game sparking rumors of a possible reunion.
