Mike definitely made a nice statement there, and Mike has put out various olive branches over the last couple years. I believe Mike also sent out a similar (though not as lengthy or elaborate) message when Brian was undergoing his back surgeries.

I see two new dates were added to Brian's 2019 tour - 9/23/19 in Cincinnati, OH and 9/28/19 in Philadelphia. Tickets go on sale 6/11/19. I'll bet Brian can't wait to get back out there on the road!

I'll bet Brian can't wait to get back out there on the road! I read that as being sarcastic, but I could actually imagine he literally does want to get going. (I could also imagine he doesn't, so take it for what it's worth.) But the guy has consistently toured for two decades now, and talks a lot about enjoying it--or at least aspects of it. If he hated it as much as it looks like he hates it from our vantage points, I can't imagine he'd be doing it. Especially being the alleged master manipulator he's always painted as being.

I think he hates touring, but he's been...influenced...to accept it because it's supposed to be good for him. I'm sure that is what his treatment plan, his team is telling him. How's that working out the last couple of years?
Some fans will say or question - what's the guy supposed to do at home? Watch TV? Go to the deli? Fall asleep on the recliner? I mean, it's not like Brian doesn't have any musician friends who would be dying to go into a studio with him. Any studio. Any time. To record whatever Brian wants.
And, it's not like he doesn't have a wife and children and grandchildren to spend quality time with. Not judging, just saying, but if I was a 77 year-old husband, father, and grandfather, and the days were winding down...

Maybe I'm a sucker, but I plan to buy a couple tickets for the Cincinnati show. It'll be really cool to see the Zombies live.

Frankly, it seems odd, and a little troubling to me, that new dates are popping up. It almost seems like Brian's camp is treating his latest battle with his mental illness like a case of the flu, and it feels like a real disservice to him and his fans.

OK, I'll say it. I really hope that Brian is healthy, happy, and at peace. But what I see in these photos is an older-looking Brian, in a wheelchair (they couldn't even get him to sit in a regular chair for the pictures?), with some kind of white medical sleeve on his left upper arm. Does that look like somebody who is ready to perform at a rock & roll concert? I'm very concerned by what I see. But, I'm sure his team of doctors knows best.
Do you see those roses behind Brian? Oh how I wish Brian would stop and take SOME MORE time to smell them.

Maybe he's ready, and his promo team did their usual mediocre job of promoting it. Maybe he's not ready at all, and as has been the case the last couple years, Al, Blondie, and the Wondermints will be doing all the heavy lifting. I don't know, but I'll be interested to see how the shows go in August.

"They took me back to my childhood home and we did a karaoke video – you should check it on my website. It's really funny. We're singing little do scoop and “Help Me Rhonda.”
Ah, yes, Little do scoop. An old favorite.
Also, it's got to be stretching a bit to say it's a historic event when they do Pet Sounds, considering how often it has been done at this point.
A final point of interest, "We didn't like [the name The Beach Boys]. Still don't. It's just what it is. You get typecast with a name like that, and you can't grow. It's difficult to grow beyond the name."
Beats Beach.
