Are there any songs that remind you of specific Beach Boys song? It could be a similar lyric, melody, arrangement, key change, etc. I'm currently revisiting Neil Young's discography after many years and an old favorite of mine "Out on the Weekend" now reminds me of "We'll Run Away". You may be scratching your head as to why that is, but the instrumentation stops playing for the first bar of this section here, providing the same effect as the backing track of "We'll Run Away" fading in after about a bar and a half (?) here. I think it's a really cool effect. No doubt used in many other songs, but it's the Beach Boys that spring right to mind!

The only one that sticks out is "Hooked On A Feeling" by Blue Suede with that "ooga-chaka" vocal riff which is a direct ripoff of "Do You Like Worms" - though I have no idea if it was deliberate.
There are a couple of songs that, whenever I hear them, remind me of a Beach Boys' song, but I'll be damned if I can place it. Those would be:
"Holiday Road" - Lindsey Buckingham "Rock And Roll Lullaby" - B.J. Thomas "Shannon" - Henry Gross

Call me crazy (and I've been told I was crazy because of this take), but "Desolation Row" by Bob Dylan reminds me of the original version of "Alone On Christmas Day".
I can't help but finding similarities in the last line in every verse of "Desolation Row" and the part "But still for real, it's sad to feel/Alone on Christmas Day".

I hear exactly what you mean. In fact, I had the same thought a few days ago about a Neil Young song (which, unfortunately, I can't place at the moment). It stopped me in my tracks! That last line of "Desolation Row", I guess it's memorable.

I've posted this elsewhere but evidently not here yet. It's about the first three notes of Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon". Now these just happen to also be the first three notes of "You're So Good To Me"! Even the timbre and speed are pretty close. Of course, after that we're talking chalk and cheese...

How 'bout a Christmas edition? I cued up the similar sections. Anyone else hear it?

I listened to "She Said She Said" last night for the first time since our discussion on double time drumming in Beach Boys songs and there it was! Used during the outro/fade just as in "Help Me Rhonda". Although, The Beatles were kind enough to give us a few more seconds to enjoy it!

Maybe it's just me, but I'd wager this guy (would've) felt right at home at a Smile/Smiley session. Stick it out 'til the end, it's only a little over a minute long.
Edit: It might be more apparent what I mean if you're listening with headphones.

Hush by the Jellyfish always makes me think of And Your Dream Comes True.

The vocal harmony at 1:09 was SUPER Queen-esque!

The vocal harmony at 1:09 was SUPER Queen-esque! Yeah, I noticed that too. The Jellyfish are sort of like if the Beach Boys and Queen had a kid together, a lot of their music clearly draws influences from both bands.

The "jitterbug" bass interjections in Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" make me wonder whether they were influenced by Mike's bass burblings in "The Girl From New York City":

The chorus of Petula Clark's "Don't Sleep In The Subway" reminds me of "GOK":
