Impressive, indeed.
As with all the still-recording legends, though, I can't help but notice the disproportionately heavy draw from the 60s and 70s. It's obvious, of course, and I'm not complaining. But just for the sake of a thought exercise, can you imagine a great show from Paul that uses exclusively solo (let's say post-Wings) output? There are some big hits in that period, though not nearly so many. There are some hidden gems, too. Do you think anyone in that audience would be happy?

Yes, I can imagine that. And that would be a very satisfying show, too, maybe as much as the one above. For every audience member who would be disappointed, you would have another one who would be celebrating.

I was just checking what he'd be working, and if you consider "solo" Paul as starting with McCartney II in 1980, I count 15 albums that aren't live or classical. Then there are the two Firemen albums, too. So there's definitely no shortage of material.
Might have to quit doing stadiums for that tour, though!

I know that I'm not a huge fan of Macca's music of recent years, but this list doesn't seem ANYTHING from 1980-2005 worthy? Nothing from Flowers in the Dirt or Flaming Pie??

He could always mix in some intimate shows for "diehards" only. The Stones have done that in recent years where they'll play some shows in smaller venues where the setlists are almost devoid of hits.

Ringo was all smiles in that clip! Love it. Yes, it was very emotional to watch. It's nice to see those two greats looking and sounding so well.
I'm not sure why the above clip was cut off. Here's video which goes to the end. Darn it, Ringo blew the chance to say, "I've got blisters on my fingers!"

Darn it, Ringo blew the chance to say, "I've got blisters on my fingers!" That would have been great! Thanks for posting the follow up video. I was about to search for one that went to the end. I had read that Ringo threw his drumsticks into the crowd and then jokingly reached for Paul's bass to do the same. You can see that in the video, if you're looking for it.

The man never stops, and I mean that in a good way. At his age, this is quite a project to be tackling. Kudos to Paul!

Linda McCartney's posthumous 1998 album Wide Prairie is being rereleased in August. I don't know why.
